John Ramus, aka the ’Squire’, passed away peacefully in the early hours of 22 February 2021.
Well known as a fiercely proud member of SYC, John and his late wife Lavender took part in every event and rally of note, usually crewed by his children David, Stig, Lizbet, Andrew and Simon.
The Squire loved sailing almost as much as he loved his family and friends, and had a series of boats that grew in length over the years as the Ramus clan expanded, culminating with Crazy Daisy and then the Devils Advocate, on which the grandchildren added to the crew.
Fair winds Squire, you will be much missed.
