Summary:- Saoirse is a spacious and well designed family cruiser. Built at a time when GRP hulls were very heavily laid-up, she is a solid, very tough but very forgiving cruising yacht. Weighing in at 4050 lbs and with a ballast ratio of 48% she is very stiff when under sail and this engenders a feeling of security in her cockpit. Although designed as a family cruiser, with all lines led aft, she is very easy to handle single handed. Her clever design gives the her the feel of a much larger vessel. Lots of work was carried out while she was ashore in 2016 including servicing of genoa roller reefing, winches and windlass, seacocks, sails and outboard. She has new safety rails, new Plastimo Contest bulkhead compass and much more.
Saoirse is currently on a SYC mooring in the canal at Southwick.
Vintage binoculars by Ross London 11x50 Stepleven (No.45503).

1986 Dehler Optima 101/34S
This yacht has a good history when it comes to winning races. If you're after a yacht that is easy to handle that can beat everyone around the cans and offshore, look no further. This yacht won the Royal Escape race overall, was 3rd in class (by 1 second) and 10th overall in the Round the Island Race, 6th in class in the Fastnet Race (having lead overall 100 miles in) and was Sussex yacht club Yacht of the year winning every series entered. Ushaka has been well maintained, updated and cared for taking into account her age, and features a surprisingly spacious and comfortable interior with lots of practical features. A May 2015 survey report is available on request. Whilst she has been optimized for racing (IRC 0.907 2018) we have extensively cruised her as a family, you will not find a better boat that offers the best of both worlds. This boat has been constantly upgraded in current ownership to provide a fast yet easy to sail.
